Darcy Schoening: CO House District 20

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Supported arming well trained teachers/staff in schools

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Darcy Schoeing said she would have voted against HB 21-1317.  This is the main reason I will not support her.  Marijuana is hurting our kids and there needs to be regulations in place to protect them.  I will not support any candidate who is not on board with protecting our kids from the dealers that are infiltrating our community.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

I went to one of Darcy's meetings and was very impressed.  However, when I got home, I remembered a couple of friends who had known a Darcy for several years.  So, I called one of them and asked if this was the same Darcy who was running for HD20.  When they told me it was, I asked a few questions about Darcy.  I was very surprised to hear that she makes a lot of commitments that she does not keep, that she was a good talker (which I already knew from the meeting) but what she says is not always the truth (or at least not the whole truth), and that this person would never go into business with Darcy!  Boy, was I surprised.  I trust this person and have totally changed my original opinion about Darcy.  Darcy kept saying of the other candidates, "look at their record" but Darcy does not have a real voting record to look at that relates to this election.  I mean low-income housing needs to go somewhere.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Darcy is the one working hardest in the race to connect with voters and to get her message out there.  I believe she is telling the truth when it comes to her positions on various issues I care about (such as Pro-Life & Election Integrity), and I believe that she would be a fighter for righteous causes.

I know for a fact that she is already involved in being a part of the process at the Capitol as I saw her there this past Monday in a committee meeting (though I'm not sure which bill she was there in support of) and she was present for the debate in the House against HB22-1279, the awful abortion bill.  I have also seen a picture of her testifying in front of that same community.  So she is already actively involved in letting her voice be heard on Capitol Hill, even in the midst of an extremely busy campaign season.  This indicates to me that she truly cares about the issues, enough to take time she could be spending on her own campaign to speak up on Capitol Hill.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Questions about the felony...In response to the question about being a convicted felon, was she answering whether or not she is “currently” a convicted felon? I’d like to know if she was ever a convicted felon. The website linked below indicates she was arrested at age of 32—not a minor or even young adult. Whether or not she was convicted of a felony, I do not know. If she was, after so much time of staying out of trouble with the law, can a felony come off of your record? I think it can. And I wonder...is there a possibility that somebody did a favor for her in exchange for favors if/when in office? That is my concern with having any record, which she has admitted she does have. But did she admit to having a record when asked about a felony? Are there other questions that should be asked?

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

I have attended many candidate meetings over the last several months trying to discern establishment politicians from grassroots statesmen/stateswomen. When Darcy entered the race, she spoke at one of those meetings I attended. She said (paraphrased): I knew as soon as Tim Geitner dropped out of the race, I had to enter. Does that mean that she would have voted for Tim if he entered the race? Does that mean she is Tim’s replacement and will vote very much like him? I have not been convinced otherwise. How did she get so much money so fast? She seems to have had a campaign just waiting for her to enter, which takes money.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

So I just got off the phone with Darcy Schoening concerning these 2 topics:

1) So I asked her point blank--are you a convicted felon? She said "absolutely 100% NO.  Don Wilson is spreading that rumor about me. I have a letter form my attorney I can forward you that clears my name of that, if you'd like I can send it to you." (I stopped short of taking her up on that)

2) I asked her about Dex's Diner. As it would have it, that whole fiasco still gives me heartburn. The former DEPOT restaurant owned and operated by Alecia was one of Palmer Lake's best restaurants, best food hands down. Darcy assured me her ex, a guy named Greg who still lives in the area and is in the restaurant business bought the building and the business from Alecia. Included in the transaction was $65,000 of fixtures which included all of the old time memorabilia and photos on the wall from the 1800's and early 1900's. Darcy said although I was his business partner, this was 100% Greg's business and her name was not on any of the legal or business ownership docs. She says when the restaurant folded, Greg offered to sell all the memorabilia back to Alecia but that she declined because she wanted out of the restaurant business completely and anything associated with it. So since he owned all that stuff, yes he did sell it at auction and what wasn't sold was thrown away. She said I still feel bad about it all too, but surely my involvement in a failed restaurant is really all that not relevant for my public service.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

In response to your comment on Darcy Schoening, it appears that she jumped in the race before the ink was dry on Tim's decision to not seek re-election.  I have been a strong supporter of Tim and the values he stood for, and I think she is using all the right verbiage, but I question her motives.  I'm closely looking at Don Wilson and Ken Witt, but haven't made a decision yet.  Tim put his support behind Don which carries weight with me, but Ken Witt was recalled from the very liberal Jeffco School Board for being "too conservative", also worth consideration.  At any rate, Darcy is not my choice!

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Know your candidate....

You should know the bad with the good. She filters everything on social media and deletes facts. Do we really want someone who does the same as the extreme left. First, she claims to be a small business owner. She was and Dex’s failed. While she owned it, she personally attacked other small businesses she did not agree with.

She talks poorly about Veterans behind their back. I can personally attest to this. She has said her opponent Isreal “DT” Del Toro is only running because he’s disabled. Well, disabled he is as he was blown up in a Hummvee in the US Air Force.

She’s a convicted felon for theft. She promotes protecting 2a rights but she’s not supposed to be in the vicinity of a firearm. She’s also on the board for the Pikes Peak Firearm Coalition whom obviously did not vet her well. She has numerous pictures on social media with firearms in her hands which is a federal felony. https://tennessee.arrests.org/Arrests/Darcy_Schoening_18490578/ She also has two DUI arrests for controlled substances in 2009 and 2013. These happened in Tennessee before she moved to Colorado in 2016.

Darcy was not a registered voter until 2020. She wants to protect rights she did not exercise until well into adulthood? She was appointed to a Monument Trustee and never voted in. She has a long history of deceitfulness.

Monument Mayor Don Wilson supports Tim Geitner who helped pass SB21-067 that brings things such as transsexuals to our children as young as 1st grade. Completely unacceptable. Paragraph 22-1-104 outlines this: https://www.leg.colorado.gov/sites/default/files/2021a_067_signed.pdf Search out Isreal Del Toro. He is a 20 year AF vet and has been publicly speaking for years. His story is easy to find on most any search engine.

Just take this as precaution. Do your research!

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

I'm still leaning towards supporting Darcy Schoening for HD 20.  I received a letter from her detailing her positions, and I agree with every one of them, especially her strong stand for Life and for Election Integrity as well as her desire to stand up and push back against those trying to push liberal agendas down our throat.  I think she will be a fighter for the people.

I went to the Capitol yesterday to pray and support the House Republicans standing against the abortion bill, HB22-1279, and she was there supporting them as well -- and has pledged to push against anything promoting murder as healthcare.

She has been THE candidate who's been doing the most legwork out of any -- I've received mail, texts, and personal phone calls from her, and she's made herself very accessible to answer questions.

Admittedly, I haven't had a chance to check out the newcomer to the race -- is that Witt? -- yet.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Darcy says a lot of right things, but the whole situation hints at being connected, and some of the names are troubling. Also, to have the whole slew of endorsements is sudden. Any for which I have asked for questionnaires take weeks. Restore Liberty is my first and they’re local. I’ve not even heard back from NRA for a survey.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

I wrote to you last night about a new candidate who was told he couldn't run, that it wasn't his turn, that he was to 'wait for his turn' to run.  This candidate is Israel Del Toro. So someone (RINO) told him this. Now that I see Darcy is running against him, it makes me wonder even more... Hmmm.  My opinion of Israel is that he is truly Constitutional-minded, but he is a newbie and just getting his feet wet in this process.  It will be good for you to speak to them all to get a clearer picture of where they all stand.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Your 3-point comments/misgivings on Darcy seem absolutely valid to bring up:

1) The fact that this person proceeded to fund an event for Darcy, sounds like an 'establishment' tactic - buying their way in. He said she wasn't 'establishment', but they seem to be using that playbook. It may just be the establishment's way of keeping out grassroots candidates and holding onto their control - even though they have allowed Democrats to have really taken over most of the state.

2) Most of us have the same opinion - that petitioning-on is not a straight-forward way to go and is sort-of a back-door way of getting in (by paying for it). You mentioned how some feel the 'craziness of the EPC GOP' may not be good for the caucus - I am getting the feeling that what this means is that it may not be good for the 'establishment GOP'. Far too long the GOP has been a party of 'do nothing'. I am much older than you, and can remember time after time when the GOP gained control of both branches of Congress and the Presidency - they still seemed unable to do anything. I believe it was because of the RINOs. On the other hand when Democrats got control, if they had the necessary majority percentage, they just pushed through their (usually evil) agendas. There hasn't been a balance or 'checks-and-balances' because the GOP just has too many RINOs.

When we attended the GOP Central Committee meetings last month and before, it was devastating. What we saw looked very similar to what we see happening between the two parties on the National level.  Progress was stopped over petty issues and was almost evenly split between RINOs and the grassroots-type newcomers. They had to vote so often because most could not agree - and seemed to be split along 'party lines' (i.e. RINO vs Newbie). So manual votes had to be taken quite often - taking a lot of time. Most of the issues on the agenda never made it to the floor and had to be shelved for the time being. At that time I sat next to a 'newbie' who is currently running for a seat.  He told me that he was notified in no uncertain terms by an 'establishment GOP member' currently holding a seat - that he had to 'wait until it was his turn' to hold the office - somehow implying that running for the seat by becoming a candidate, doing the legwork, getting to know his district, etc. was NOT the way to do it, instead it was to wait until the GOP thought it was 'your turn'.  By doing what we are doing - getting in at the precinct level - we are taking advantage of the previously-empty seats for "true" GOP representation.  We will be responsible for putting names of Candidates onto the ballots for the next voting session.  Too often in the past, we voted for the 'lesser of two evils'  - time for that is OVER.  I don't want to vote for (example) Doug Lamborn - simply because he has an "R" next to his name and will be at least better than a "D".  For too long it HASN'T been better than voting in a "D".  We need TRUE  conservative, patriotic, Constitutional and Believing representation.  We have allowed God to be kicked out of everything, but we complain about our lost freedoms. The time has come to reverse this!

At the last meeting at Fervent Church, Dave Winney was running for Secretary of State, however, Tina Peters (from Weld County) was at this meeting and spoke at length about her "experience" with defending her district and the authenticity of the voting record.  When she was arrested for preserving that voting record in case of an audit, she realized that she had to run to replace the current Secretary of State - Jena Griswold. My thought was - oh boy, this will split our vote against Jena - having both Dave Winney AND Tina Peters running as conservatives.  At the end of all the candidate speeches, Dave came up and gave his story - that (long before that night) he prayed about it and felt that he would give up running for that seat in order to get behind Tina, support her and even fight for her. He looks like a person who truly wants what is best for our state, and not what HE wants.  When I see so many people jumping in like you mentioned with so many grassroots candidates - then our vote will really be divided. We need to think what is better for the conservative people we want to represent.

3) Darcy's endorsements will speak volumes also - at least their track record will. If some are outright saying things contrary to our beliefs and values, that is a very strong indication that Darcy's beliefs may be the same as her endorsers.

The person who wrote to challenge your opinion, really presented nothing to Darcy's benefit except stating their own personal opinion of her. They may have had a 'rapport' or got along great - but these are not solid points that we would like to see when electing someone which we will be trusting and relying on. This person's good vibes from Darcy may not reflect your - or another's feelings either. It sounds like you have a 'gut' feeling and I think sometimes we need to follow these. Of course, be objective and try to understand just what it is that holds you back from supporting Darcy. Try to ascertain if there is really a person more-qualified, more-suitable to fill that position. And above all, pray about it.

This person who wrote to you first says that 'experience in politics is overrated' and although I do somewhat agree, to me, it depends on the candidate's viewpoint (or even voting record - when you come right down to it!). Watch what they DO and not necessarily what they SAY they will do. This is one thing we do not have with a 'newbie'. Their past record may indeed determine whether you support them or not. Strangely, though this person mentioned experience in politics, they proceeded to inform you of THEIR 'experience in politics' as if this leant more merit to their opinion of Darcy.

Sorry this reply is so long and drawn-out. You sound like you are being reasonable and truly trying to do what is best and right. That is all you can do. Persevere, learn, listen and pray. Also trust your instincts.

Stay strong, get rest and Press On!

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Who is it that YOU are supporting since you seem to not consider Darcy a viable option, and what does your "favorite" candidate have to offer that is different than Darcy? Vague statements do not add to the conversation or benefit anyone. The latest entry is Ken Witt, who just entered the race. Now there are 4, or 5? What issues do you have with Darcy that make you think someone else is more worthy of your support? I have spoken with Darcy at length in 1 on 1 conversation and I am satisfied that she is NOT an "establishment" candidate. Instead, she is a fighter and has been active in supporting causes we believe in, even as just a private citizen.

As a precinct captain and active delegate I am curious who you support and why? Experience in politics is grossly over-rated and quite frankly is often someone you do NOT want in higher office. I want people who have a proven track record of being involved in the process outside of being an elected official, who will fight for positions I believe in and won't just warm a seat because they feel they are entitled to it.

I look forward to your comments.

OPINION about Darcy Schoening:

Darcy had some good things to say today.

1) What is the consequence of Darcy joining the pack for election if there are other "grass roots patriot" candidates already running?  Or do we not already have a good, electable candidate?

By dividing our delegate votes, could we end up with no or less "grass roots patriots" on the ballot?  I'm not suggesting Darcy is wittingly is in on some conspiracy but still may impact our goals.

Could it be that we say with our votes?... "Thanks for joining the race.  I understand why, but I wish you didn't jump in so late in process.  Let's talk again the next time."

2) In the meeting today I mentioned that an establishment GOP leader said to a group I was in, "Serious candidates will petition on because of the 'craziness' of the El Paso county GOP will not be good for caucus" (paraphrased, but this was clearly made to disparage the process/people).  I believe in "We the People" and petitions are bought.

Oddly enough, we found that the very person that made this comment hosted a "$100 suggested donation" fund raising event for Darcy within the past few days.  It may be nothing, but what is his motivation for his comments?

Could this be an indication of the establishment powers to knee cap grass roots patriots?

3) Darcy's endorsements

There were several people on her list that either have proven to be a "do nothing" or state things significantly conflicting with our values.  If anyone is interested in more details, please let me know and I can work with Roxanne to get you comments tomorrow.  I don't have them handy and it's getting late.

Could this be an indication of the establishment powers to knee cap grass roots patriots?

👉 RESPONSE FROM Darcy Schoening:

1) establishment does not want me. When they found out I was running for HD20 and not trustee again, I was blacklisted by the developer who is endorsing don.

Ken Witt: CO House District 20

OPINION about Ken Witt:

Ken Witt was recalled from the very liberal Jeffco School Board for being "too conservative", also worth consideration.

OPINION about Ken Witt:

I just met Ken Witt. He's a business man. Wouldn’t tell me who called him up to run because "not everybody wants their endorsements public". Hmmm...sounds fishy to me. Doesn't seem to know much about the latest info on Colorado's 2020 election. He said he thinks there was fraud but how much has to be determined. A bit wishy washy on election machines. Supports school choice big time. Dodged my school choice is only for those who the school accepts question though and said he opened Orton Academy, the only dyslexia school in Colorado. Believes marijuana needs to be heavily regulated to keep kids safe. Supports well trained teachers carrying in schools. Highly respects Paul Lundeen. Said Lamborn has voted well but has not always listened well (whatever that means). Really respects Trey Gowdy in SC and how he has voted. Ken has done business in many countries and believes what sets us apart is our respect of the rule of law. He said he supports no income tax for state and federal. His wife works for Aurora’s DA office. He is strong pro-life (but says there are medical reasons for abortions).

OPINION about Ken Witt:

Late declaration of candidacy

Said would support the regulating marijuana in order to protect our kids

Don Wilson: CO House District 20

OPINION about Don Wilson:

Don Wilson is being endorsed by our District Attorney, Michael Allen!

OPINION about Don Wilson:

Don Wilson is the mayor of Monument now looking to move up to state. That strikes me as a politician and not a statesmen.

OPINION about Don Wilson:

Supported arming well trained teachers/staff in schools. Don Wilson was also able to speak to Faster and Bullets Both Ways without any prompting from me.

Israel Del Toro: CO House District 20

OPINION about Israel Del Toro:

I have checked out Israel del Toro's website and he says very little on it regarding what he's actually standing for.  All three speeches I've heard have been more focused on his own personal testimony and the fact that he's a fighter, that he's FOR veterans and AGAINST Covid mandates, but regarding the other issues I really care about -- such as prolife and election integrity -- I can find NO information.  I even tried to ask him questions via his website contact form -- but it wouldn't accept it and didn't go through.  I don't have his phone number and can't contact him.  Unless I know where he stands on social and moral issues, I won't vote for him.  So far, I've not been able to find out anything about his stand.

OPINION about Israel Del Toro:

Spoke to the people at several patriot events.
